What are the basic requirements for a Master Franchisee Agreement with Mary Brown’s?
Mary Brown’s requires that you agree to build, open and operate the minimum number of restaurants as determined for the Territory based upon an analysis of the market. There are many factors considered including: demographic and geographic data, economic factors and competition.
Can I partner with other business people to purchase a Master Territory?
Definitely. We have a number of Territory partners that have partnered with other interested parties.
What are Liquid Assets?
The most common forms of Liquid Assets are cash, stocks, bonds and inventory.
Why does Mary Brown’s require that I have C$250,000.00 per restaurant in liquid assets to qualify?
Through experience, Mary Brown’s has determined that these numbers are necessary in order for an applicant to qualify for the financing that is required to build restaurants. We believe that these numbers represent the fiscal responsibility we require our partners to have.
Why do I have to build a minimum number of restaurants?
Mary Brown’s established this minimum so that we can keep our franchise community active and our brand exposed in a way that best serves you and Mary Brown’s. All restaurants do not have to be built at the same time – but development is required within the assigned period.
Does Mary Brown’s offer exclusive development rights?
Mary Brown’s does offer exclusive area development agreements.
Does Mary Brown’s own the real estate and building?
Mary Brown’s will offer assistance in site selections, design and other areas of construction – but Mary Brown’s does not own the real estate or the building. The individual Franchisee is responsible for buying or leasing the real estate and for the cost of building the restaurant.
Does Mary Brown’s provide financing?
Individual franchisees are responsible for arranging financing for their restaurant. Mary Brown’s does not offer financing or any type of guarantees.
How long is the approval process?
Typically the approval process takes between 90 and 120 days although many deals have taken less time than that.
Where do I purchase products from to run the business?
Mary Brown’s product may be purchased only from authorized suppliers and distributors. A complete list of authorized suppliers will be provided to you by Mary Brown’s Home Office.
Can I buy local items to supply my restaurant?
As much as possible, Mary Brown’s endeavors to use local suppliers as long as local products meet Mary Brown’s specifications.
